Into the Light- Lumière Professional Laser Clinic

BeFunky Design

Lumière Professional Laser Clinic are launching a new treatment so I thought I’d give you an insight into Lumière and what they do as well as some info on the new treatment.

Laser tattoo removal arrived as a new service at Taattoo in 2012. Interest grew for the new service and at the beginning of 2016, we decided to give the service its own identity in the form of Lumière Professional Laser Clinic. Along with the new name, came a new fully qualified laser technician called Ema (pictured below).

emaA Q-Switched Nd-Yag Laser is used for all treatments Lumière has to offer. For tattoo removal,  this machine emits a laser or pulse of light that is absorbed into certain colours of ink. The body can then break down the ink particles and absorb them.

Now for the new treatment…Lumière are launching…

Carbon Laser Facials

Sometimes called Carbon Laser Skin Rejuvenation, this innovative treatment is listed as one of the top 10 beauty treatments in LA. Celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Aniston are said to be die-hard fans. It is also referred to as the ‘Black Doll’ facial due to the colour of the carbon face mask and porcelain skin results.

It is a non-invasive, pain free treatment great for:12

  • Treating minor skin imperfections
  • Rejuvenating the skin
  • Reducing fine lines & wrinkles
  • Removing dead skin cells
  • Reducing acne, acne scars and post acne discolouration
  • Stimulating collagen growth
  • Improving skin tone and texture
  • Clearing pores to help reduce blackheads and whiteheads

Results can be seen after your first treatment but to see the maximum effects, we recommend a course of 6 treatments over a 12 week period.

All treatments, including laser tattoo removal are carried out in a private treatment room.

What happens during the treatment?

We first wipe the face with a non-fragranced, alcohol free cleansing wipe to clear away any makeup, oil and dirt that may be on the face. A thin layer of carbon is applied to the entire face and left to dry for a period of 10-15 minutes.
Once dry, we use the Nd-Yag Laser to remove the carbon. The laser causes an implosion of the carbon particles as they absorb the light. It focuses on the upper layers of the epidermis, exfoliating the skin and removing any debris from the pores.
The treatment minimises pore size and the heat transmitted from the laser stimulates collagen renewal. Only a minor sensation, similar to pins and needles is felt throughout the treatment.
Once the paste has been removed by the laser, we cleanse the skin using another cleansing wipe to ensure any left over carbon is removed. We then apply a moisturising lotion containing SPF to protect your newly refreshed face.
If any initial flushing or mild redness occurs after this treatment, it should fade within a couple of hours. The full effects of the treatment should be visible the following day.

As it is a non-invasive treatment, you can return to your normal daily activities and beauty regime straight after your treatment. We do, however, recommend that you refrain from re-applying any makeup for at least 2 hours after your facial and continue or start a daily cleanse, tone, moisturise routine.
